Brand New Weekly Segments Coming to AskAaronLee.com

April 14, 2011 by Aaron 18 Comments

After many thoughts, I’ve decided to start two new segments on AskAaronLee that would be updated on a weekly basis. As of now, my blog posts are usually posted on random days and I usually decide to write a post when I find something interesting and want to share it with you.

Due to my inexperience and as a method of learning for myself, I thought of writing more about what businesses are doing on social media, how they are humanizing their business and how people are professionalizing themselves. Hence, this blog is about humanizing businesses and professionalizing people (now say that at a fast pace nonstop).

So, after much tweeting about names and brainstorming with my close friends, there will be two new columns on this blog. Introducing………………..

Focus Friday

I tweeted about this on Twitter, and @MurrayBuchanan came up with the name “Focus Friday”. It will be posted every Friday consistently (without fail….), on how businesses, startups, small businesses, companies, etc are using social media today.

It might come in a form of a blog post by me; similar like the case study I did on how KLM used Twitter, or my observations on why Qatar Airlines shouldn’t have a private twitter account.  It might also come in a form of a guest post from other bloggers, as well as interviews. Focus Friday will be focusing on the business itself, especially how businesses today are humanizing themselves with social media.

Sunday Coffee

We had a lot of names for this, but I decided to go with Sunday Coffee. I love coffee, and I love the idea of getting to know someone and their company better over a cup of coffee! I love beer too but it may sound as though we were getting drunk while conducting the interview.

Sunday coffee will feature real people and how they have started their business, how they built their business, basically about how people professionalize themselves. It is more about getting to know people behind the business up close, so that aspiring entrepreneurs can learn from them and model their success.

Future?

Who knows, maybe a video blog (vlog) like Chris Brogan? But I have to admit that I am camera-shy!

I hope you’ll enjoy the new segments as much as I will. Look out for my first Focus Friday tomorrow! It will feature a guest post from someone who had his business featured in over 100 blog posts in 2 months.

What do you think of the new column? Is there anything you want to see from this blog?
