Making The App-Possible, Possible

February 28, 2018 by Aaron Leave a Comment

Starting your business can be a huge step for you to take for your business, but I also understand that there are many different ways you can consider branching out your business. However, the name of the game is to promote and sell your products and services. These days so much is going down a digital route, and as normal people, we have a need to constantly be in touch with the world and our smartphones make that possible. So a great step for any business to take would be to consider creating and app for the business and brand. But what should you be thinking about? What are the steps to take? I wanted to share with you some of the actions you can do to help you on your way for making an app for your business completely possible.

Set a goal

One of the first things to do when it comes to creating an app is to set yourself a goal. The goal could be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. Consider what you want to the app to do. Are you wanting it to be another way to buy or order products and services? Is it going to be informative, or perhaps a link directly to your business blog? Is the app going to work alongside your website as an extra tool or do you want it to be something that is an addition to that? It is important to be specific with your goals and you may want to consider some of the main attributions of goal setting to help you be clearer with what you need to do. You need to be specific with your goal, you need to ensure that you can measure and make it achievable. You need to ensure that you are also being realistic with it and that you set yourself some time parameters in which you want to achieve the app. Websites like https://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/ can help you with it if you are unsure. You also need to be thinking about the long term future. You may have goals now for the short term but what is the long term goal for the app?

Consider who you might need to help you develop it

Once you have your goals outlined and you know exactly what you want to achieve the next step would be to decide how you create it. Certain licenses may need to be obtained from the likes of ITunes and Android, and perhaps deciding whether you are going to make the app available on both ports or just one or the other. You could then get in touch with websites like https://praxent.com/services/web-app-development that could prove to be informative and valuable with the advice and services they could offer. It may also determine how you go about it when it comes to the timescale and goal you have set, something that is more long term could be considered to be developed in-house, where as you may want some speed if you are looking to launch fairly soon.

Design the look and consider your brand

You need to think about whether your brand would work in a smartphone app, and so it may be time to rethink your branding, your logo and your strapline. From the colours you use to how big the font is, these things are all important as you start to develop your app. Once you are happy with those aspects, then you may want to spend the time on the actual design look and layout of your app. The ease of use is going to be important if you are wanting people to use it.

Test it out

Once the app is in the development and completion stage now would be the time to test it out. Using focus groups, your staff maybe, and even the vernal public and gauge some idea on what might work for your business app and what perhaps need to be thought out again. How they feel and the feedback and critique you get could help you to make solid improvements for the future of your app.

Promote it through your platforms

Finally, once the app is ready to launch you now need to build up the interest so that people want to download it the moment it is available. This is when using social media to promote your app could be the best idea. You could keep things simple, or even develop a marketing and advertising campaigns centred around the app. It would all depend on how people will use the app and what it can potentially do.

I hope that these steps help you on your way to making an app for your business or brand.
