How Renewable Energy Could Solve Some Of Your Business’s Most Challenging Problems

June 4, 2021 by Aaron

Renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, tide, and thermal are popular among environmentalists because of their ability to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. But the business community may also soon embrace these technologies because of the unique benefits that they offer.

Generating energy from fossil fuels requires a lot of work. You have to mine the fuels themselves, transport them, and then burn them in a massive power plant while providing a grid network to distribute electricity. It’s tremendously expensive.

But renewable sources of energy are different. The setup costs are generally low. There’s no fuel, so to speak. And you can install them locally, eliminating the need for costly grids.

Renewable energy projects, such as ChooseSolar, are important for business for several reasons. Here’s why.

It Transforms Your Brand

How do you want your customers to see you? As a brand that guzzles natural resources and damages the environment? Or one that is taking steps to produce cleanly and protect the planet for everyone?

Almost always, you want people to see you as the latter. But you think that it’s a balancing act. You imagine that you have to trade off your company’s profitability for sustainability. However, that’s not always the case. In fact, many sustainable solutions generate money in the long-term because they add massive brand value.

It Is Better For The Planet

Businesses across the world recognise that if they want to maintain their profitability long-term, they have to protect the Earth’s natural resources on why they rely. Otherwise, disasters will strike the world’s population and societies will cease becoming richer, reducing returns.

According to experts, switching to renewable energy is the single most important thing that firms can do to protect their long-term client bases and markets. By reducing their burden on the planet, they are much better able to preserve their markets for the long-term.

Research suggests that by using solar, the average business could cut its carbon emissions by around 5.4 tonnes per year. That’s enough carbon for more than 2,700 trees.

It Costs Less

Business costs – especially fixed costs – are a drain on your cash flow and, in some extreme cases, can jeopardise your business. But renewable energy is not cheap energy. In fact, costs are so low in some parts of the world that it is no longer worth setting up coal or gas power plants. Instead, areas are trying to meet all their new capacity demand by installing solar.

The reason for this is simple; once you set up renewable energy generators, they create energy for free. There are no additional costs associated with them, aside from the occasional cleaning and maintenance.

The price of solar and wind technologies dropped tremendously over the last decade. And even today, in 2021, it continues to fall. This process will likely continue into the 2020s as the scale of production continues to increase and new technologies enhance both efficiency and cost.

In summary, therefore, renewable energy solves many business problems. It boosts your brand, cuts costs, and helps to make your business sustainable in the long-run.
