How To Prepare Your Office For An Important Client Visit

April 19, 2018 by Aaron Leave a Comment

In general, it’s always worthwhile to keep your office in good shape. A clean and tidy office encourages productivity and reduces the number of distractions amongst your staff. However, there are often times where your office comes under increased scrutiny – like when an important client comes to visit.

Imagine you have a meeting with your most important client, and they enter your office and see it’s a complete mess. This reflects badly on you and your company and could be the catalyst that makes them leave for good. Your office should look neat and tidy while giving off a professional aura. This gives clients the confidence that they’re dealing with a business that takes things seriously.

Keeping that in mind, here’s some advice to help you prepare your office for an important visit:

Make The Floor Shine

A lot of offices come with laminate flooring or a similar type of material. This creates a very professional look in your office, but there’s one main problem. Over time, this type of flooring can become marked and dulled by people walking all over it. So, in preparation for this important visitor, you need to make the floor shine once more. To do this, you can use a propane floor burnisher to polish the floor and leave it looking spotless. Your clients will be able to see their reflection in it – which ends up reflecting positively on your business!

Clear Away All Clutter

When it comes to impressing clients, the key is minimalism. Try and have as little on display as possible, which means cleaning all desks of unwanted clutter. If someone walks in and sees every desk is pretty much neat and tidy, then it says a lot about your business. They instantly think you must be running a tight ship, and that everyone has their head screwed on. You give the impression of productivity, which clients will obviously like.

Set Up A Board With Goals/Targets

Generally speaking, it’s good to have a board on one of your office walls that’s full of the targets/goals you need to complete each day. This keeps everyone motivated as there are clear things to work towards. If you don’t do this, then the best time to start is when a client is coming over. Make this board very noticeable, so they see it when they walk in. Again, it makes your whole business seem more coordinated and productive when clear goals are present. It leaves your clients with no doubt that they’ve chosen well and are spending their money wisely by working with you.

Naturally, along with these three tips, you should ensure everyone inside your office is presentable and professional. One great tip I received from this credit repair company is that they require all of their employees to double check their clothes, shoes and desk area everyday for couple minutes before they start to work.

By doing everything mentioned in this piece, you’ll create an office environment that dazzles all your visiting clients. It may seem like a load of effort, but you’ll be amazed at how much easier it is to retain clients when they see your office looking its best. Likewise, it’s easy to lose clients thanks to a poorly presented office!
