3 Reasons Your Small Business Should Be Using Office 365

July 29, 2017 by Aaron Leave a Comment

In 2015, three years after its inception, Microsoft Office 365 was boasting close to 50 million active users, and instantly became very popular with business owners for a number of reasons. Office 365 is a business management software that was launched in 2012 by Microsoft. It incorporates cloud computing with the traditional Microsoft Office tools, and has become an instant hit in the US.

Here are some of the main benefits of Office 365 for small businesses.

Office 365

Guaranteed Service Delivery

There is nothing that can put you out of business as quick as frequent interruptions in service delivery. But there are so many things that can go wrong if you’re running an in-house system. It could simply be persistent power blackouts in your office building, or it could be a major issue such as a natural disaster that destroys your entire system. If you’re living in areas susceptible to flooding, you may not know when a flood may incapacitate your business indefinitely.

According to research carried out in 2015 by the US Institute for Business and Home Safety, 25 percent of businesses that close due to major disasters never reopen. With Office 365, losses incurred are minimized substantially and it’s easier to reopen after such a disaster. Since Office 365 is entirely cloud based, you are assured of being able to access your documents, provide services to your customers, and keep your business alive from anywhere on earth.

Convenience

With Office 365, you can work from anywhere and at any time of the day or night, and also on a very secure system. A couple of years back; you’d need the services of an IT expert and to part with a few thousand dollars to set up a VPN. This is no longer necessary with Office 365.

Revamped Data Security

Cyber insecurity is one of the biggest threats to businesses carrying out online transactions and collecting customers’ confidential information. However, cloud computing offers more data security than ever before. With Office 365, you can take data security into your own hands and stay aware of the people who have access to your data at all times.

Moreover, Office 365 also comes with inbuilt security measures and requires continuous compliance from members. Since your data is backed up in the cloud, you don’t have to worry if you happen to lose your hard drive. You can also find an alternative to default Office 365 reports if need be.

The biggest advantage of Office 365 is that you can delete your data at any time if you suspect that it has been compromised.

Conclusion

As you can see, it is no surprise why a majority of small business owners are opting to subscribe to the Office 365 system. There is nothing as comforting as knowing that you’re safe from the risks that in-house business systems are exposed to. Nothing will seriously derail your service delivery on Office 365.
