Entrepreneurial Spirit: Are You Born With It, Or Do You Build It?

October 20, 2017 by Aaron Leave a Comment

Something people in business always talk about is ‘entrepreneurial spirit’. Some people say that you have to be born with this spirit to succeed in business, but this isn’t in the slightest bit true! You can actually awaken your own entrepreneurial spirit if you’re determined enough. Many people started out with very little knowledge, and now have their own empires to show for the work and effort they put in.

Here are a few tips you can use to build your own entrepreneurial spirit, mindset, whatever you want to call it!

Find Your Passion

If you’re going to develop an entrepreneurial spirit, you’ll find it a lot easier if you know what your passion is. Now, don’t make the same mistake so many people do and assume that you need to find what it already is, or wait for it to come knocking on your door. If you honestly have no clue, then work on developing it! You should have a few ideas of what you’re interested in, so just experiment, have fun, and take it from there.

Find People You Admire

Next up, find people you admire. People who have already done what you want to do, people who are on their way to doing it, whoever you want! There are entrepreneurs at the head of huge empires you can take tips from, such as Richard Branson. Then there are entrepreneurs like Issa Asad who have made a name for themselves on their own niche industries. Whatever you do, look at these people and figure out how they got to where they are. Don’t copy; take inspiration. If you can ask people who aren’t too difficult to get in touch with for advice, then do it! LinkedIn is a great tool for this.

Always Ask Questions

The entrepreneurial spirit always asks questions. What is this company doing that makes it so successful? How could I do this job better? What problems could I solve in the modern day? An inquisitive bran is an entrepreneurial one.

Take Risks

All entrepreneurs need to get comfortable with taking risk. Worrying too much about making the perfect decision and not doing anything, is much worse than making the wrong decision! At least you can get back up after making mistakes, dust yourself off, and learn from it. You can’t learn anything from standing still.

Actually Do Something

Break down a task into baby steps and actually do something. Take a course, like online MBA California if you’re into expanding your knowledge in business.. Build a website. Take a small step each day to getting to where you want to be. Inspired action is the key to success! So many people talk about what they want to do and where they want to be, yet they never do anything about it. It’s overwhelming to look at where you want to be and where you are now, so it’s understandable. It can seem like a huge leap of faith, but if you’re smart, you’ll look at it as a series of baby steps.

Build your entrepreneurial spirit starting with these tips!
