Trying to get a job after university can feel like a never-ending trudge. Even if you find a position, it’s probably not going to be a job that you like in a business that you click with. Instead, it’s going to be something where you’ll essentially be ‘paying your dues.’ What does this mean? Basically, working for nothing in the hope that eventually you rise up the corporate ladder and one day become a manager. This is the reality for many people who leave college this year. The sad truth of it is that most people won’t even get that. Instead, they’ll never rise up the ranks and will be forever stuck in a dead end job.
But what if you could escape that fate? Instead, of paying your dues, you can get paid and make a fortune as soon as you’re out of college. This is the path of a 20-something entrepreneur. Before they hit thirty, they are making their fortunes. But how do you do this?
Get Qualified
Well, the first step is making you leave college with the right degree. A lot of people choose a degree that is never going to lead anywhere like philosophy or possibly art. Don’t get the wrong idea here, people can succeed on these degree paths. But most people do it because they can’t think of anything else. If you’re going to take a degree like this on you, need to have a passion for it. If not, you should choose a degree that will give you the best chance at success. Do that and you can fast track your way to success. Even if you finish college with a useless degree, you can always study online and find the skills that will lead you on the path of an entrepreneur.
Pursue Your Passion
The overall aim of any entrepreneur is to start a business. But you shouldn’t open a company in a random industry selling products that you have no knowledge of. Instead, you should pursue something that you have a passion for. If you do this, you can make sure that you understand your target audience, what they’re looking for and ultimately, this will guarantee that your company is successful. There is also the factor of just making sure that you don’t spend every day of your life doing something you hate.
Shaking Hands
It’s easier to start a business as a partnership or working with multiple people, rather than just as a solo project. There are various reasons for this, from financial (splitting the cost) to practical (two heads are better than one). You should look for someone while you’re in college who shares your aspirations and whom you know you can count on. Find this individual, and you will have the starting point of a team for your company.

If you follow this advice, you can skip the trudge of trying to find the job on the market after you leave college. Instead, you can ensure you’re one of the lucky individuals who heads a company and finds their fortune before they even reach middle age. It’s easier than you think and you should be exploring this possibility right now.
