Cross The Startup Border!

September 16, 2020 by Aaron

Being a startup might not be a title that you want to hold. A startup is usually viewed by other people as a small business trying to get somewhere in the business world. It’s impossible for a startup to have a reputation good enough that people trust it more than the other brands that they already know and love, which is why it’s so hard to cross that border. But with the right business idea and the right attitude towards business, you might not have to be a startup for as long as you think, you can transition to a successful small business. Plus, it all depends on what your views are of a big brand. It might be ones people know and love, like Netflix or Apple, but realistically there are so many small, big businesses that people don’t truly understand how big the scale of them is because they’re not mainstream. So, if you are dying to cross that startup border, we’re here to help. Before you know it you could be a small business gaining traction!

Make Everything More Streamlined

This is such an important one. If you want your business to function efficiently you need to find ways of streamlining everything that you do. A way of simplifying clunky processes that might be costing you more time and money than is needed. From ensuring you have a good payment gateway to help you to efficiently manage international payments, to the monthly payroll, there are no doubt ways of simplifying everything that you’re doing. So, take some time to take a step back from your business and analyse everything that you’re doing, and find ways to make it easier. You’ll be surprised at how many changes you’ll make to your business as you go through the years and you’ll wonder how you ever started out how you did!

Take Inspiration From Well Loved Brands

This is a great one to try. If you look at the history of some of the well loved brands, you’ll see how much they have evolved over time. So you need to be able to take inspiration from their journey and moves they made to become as big as they are. For example, GymShark is an internationally loved brand who changed the marketing game by asking Instagram influencers to try their products. They sent them free samples, and before you know it the brand was everywhere. Now it’s common practice for big sports brands to connect with Instagram influencers to promote their new products. It’s techniques like this you need to learn from and adopt.

Find A Gap In The Market

Finally, you need to be able to find a gap in the market. As good as it is to follow in the footsteps of big brands you can’t copy them and expect it to work for you. One of the best things you can do is find a gap in the market and create a need for your customers. It might be a new product or service, or a new way of delivering it that makes you stand out from the crowd.
