A Human Touch: Adding That Sense Of Personality To Your Business

September 17, 2019 by Aaron

A business is a constantly moving entity; there are always little bits that need improving, components that need throwing out, but also, it’s about adding that little something that everybody else doesn’t have. Not at all hard, is it? Well… the fact of the matter is, whether you are trying to close sales, inspire employees, or market your business more efficiently, it’s all about personality. Anybody that runs a small business wants the personality to reverberate throughout every component. What are the best ways to do this?

Being Engaging

You don’t have to do it in a verbal sense; it’s possible to alter the website design, so your personality reflects through the prism that is your webpage. When you think about the subtle components of a website, aspects like color can have a major effect on how your brand and business is perceived. An excellent example is the basic color scheme; blue will provide a more calming sensation, while red will encourage a sense of urgency. So when you are designing a website, think about your personality in terms of color. It’s these little undercurrents that can make such a big difference.

Getting The Right Employees That Understand Your Brand

Yes, you can train them up, but when you want your brand to exude a sense of warmth, going through social media and giving your employees and understanding of the types of words that they can and cannot use could mean all the difference. Think about it if a customer is unhappy with something and they take to Twitter to lambast you; every single word that you use in response can be turned against you. But such components are essential to give employees a worthwhile appreciation of communication methods, but the right words that can deflate an angry customer, as well as build a relationship with them.

Building Your Brand Voice

This is all in the marketing. As soon as you start to create a personality, this is how you can put your business forward and make it a lot more 3D. Your brand voice is done through your communications, but it’s also your promotional packages. This is why so many people take to creating an explainer video, as this helps them to put forward a personality easily. In one respect, it doesn’t require that much overthinking, but then when you start to think about the other platforms, the overall personality needs to carry. As such, you’ve got to think about that comprehensive ability to transcend every platform. Content is all about the voice of the business. So think about the various ways that you can use content to your advantage. Blogs, vlogs, as well as podcasts and anything else, can go one step further to building your brand voice.

Personality is integral to building a relationship with the customer and with the employees. To express who you are through the business, and rather than turning your business into some stuffy, personality-devoid entity, you should make it your goal to put as much of a human touch into it as possible.
