Add A Dash Of Modern To Your Business

September 27, 2017 by Aaron Leave a Comment

Many businesses stay stuck in the stone age for what seems like forever. But we’re entering a world where technological advancements are happening so rapidly at the moment, it’s sometimes hard to stay in the game. Not only do you need to stay up to date with modern tech, but with how your business is ran. More and more companies are taking a fun styled approach to management, which really boosts morale in the office. Here are a few ways you can sprinkle a little bit of the modern world into your office.

Technology

As powerful as modern technology is, it’s destined to be breaking, confusing or just downright annoying. Especially if you’re of the older generation, technology can just be scary. If your business is web based, and you’re currently using web hosting companies. Don’t!! They can be so unreliable, they’re a lot more likely to crash, a lot slower. Try Managed I.T Services. They’ll be a dedicated team of people, managing the server so that any faults, slowness, crashes are fixed immediately, meaning down time of your business will be minimum. Be careful though, some companies sell servers unmanaged without notifying the client. This can be devastating for business, as if someone goes wrong, content could be lost completely, or take days to sort.

Bringing modern technology into the office is a must. Working on old, slow, boring computers can be annoying for employee’s, and slow for business. Try introducing some flashy Apple iMac’s into the room. Not only is it fun to work off new technology, especially sort after iMac’s. The speed of them is so great, it’ll really help improve internal processes. Even bringing things in such as headsets rather than actual phones, so that when customers ring your workers can multi-task.

How You Run Your Business

There are so many businesses lately being criticised for how they treat their staff, don’t let you be one of them. The basics are treating them with the respect you expect them to treat you with. So many business owners forget that they were once employee’s too, and were probably also once treated really unfairly. So why not take a leaf out of Google’s books. Their offices are so refreshing. Slides to get from one floor to another, chill out areas with bean bags, TV’s, gaming systems. Yes slides might seem a little childish, but they don’t employ people who don’t want to let their inner child out. Make your workplace an exciting far from stress zone as possible, and the right employee’s will come to you. Try setting reward related targets. If an employee makes a certain amount of sales in the day, reward them with a bonus. This will not only motivate that single employee, but it’ll motivate the rest of the team to get their rewards. Another good technique is team building days. Try escape rooms, inflatable obstacle courses, anything that’ll keep the team working together, and have a fun filled day at the same time.
