5 Ways to Impress New Clients

January 6, 2021 by Aaron

As a business owner, you always want to put your best foot forward. When you look good, your business looks good. When your business looks good, you’re better positioned to grow your revenue and your business at the same time. If you’re like many entrepreneurs, you probably rely on the acquisition of new clients to maintain and build your income. However, sometimes clients aren’t easy to please.

So, what can you do to make a stellar first impression with clients? What are some strategies that will help you gain new business, regardless of your industry? Finally, what changes can you make to your place of business to increase the “wow” factor? We will answer all of these questions and more with the top 5 ways to impress new clients!

Create a Stunning Waiting Room

If you need to host new clients in a physical office, then you probably won’t be the first thing to make an impression. Instead, it will be the space in which new clients wait or congregate before meeting you. If you leave clients waiting in an old, dingy waiting room, you’ll probably have a harder time selling your services to them.

Instead, you should invest in a modern, inviting waiting room or entrance. This will not only impress clients, but it will make your business look more professional in general. For guidance on creating the perfect waiting room to impress clients, check out Key Interiors.

Be Punctual

While it’s important to have a nice waiting room, you don’t want to leave new clients sitting in there for hours on end! Therefore, you should always be very punctual when meeting new or potential clients. If you schedule a meeting, you should be ready to receive the client at least five minutes before the agreed-upon time. That way, you don’t leave your client asking themselves why they even bothered to show up!

Focus On Your Strengths

Many business owners get so preoccupied with impressing new clients that they forget their own limitations. Don’t pretend to be an expert in everything or the greatest business owner to ever walk the Earth. Instead, focus on your strengths and the value that you can provide to the client. This way, you won’t come across as a sleazy salesperson, but you also won’t sell yourself short.

Personalize Your Interactions

While you should always be professional, this doesn’t mean that you can’t get to know new clients. In fact, asking questions (and remembering the answers later on) can actually leave a lasting, positive impression. In the business world, people often feel like cogs in a machine rather than actual human beings. Thus, personalizing your interaction can help the client feel more comfortable and willing to work with you.

Dress For Success

Finally, you should always look your best when meeting a new client for the first time. If you look shabby, disheveled, or poorly-dressed, it will leave the client feeling uneasy about your abilities. People make a lot of assumptions based on appearance, so this is far more important than many business owners realize. Additionally, by dressing for success, it will show your client that you actually put an effort into meeting them!
