Five Reasons to Stop Putting Off Starting Your Business Blog

April 25, 2017 by Aaron Leave a Comment

Blogging is a very powerful, well-known method of promoting your business online. But, the fact that a blog requires a lot of time, dedication and effort to be effective often puts many business owners off from starting one.

But, running a business blog needn’t be as challenging or as time-consuming as you might think. And, once you get started and get it off the ground, the benefits certainly make all the effort worth it. So, we’ve listed some of the main reasons to start a blog.

Reason #1. Target New Customers & Clients

Although the content in your business blog doesn’t necessarily need to be directly promoting the products and/or services that you sell, don’t let this fool you into thinking that it isn’t a worthy marketing strategy.

In fact, by discussing your industry and providing your readers with great information, facts, tips and hints that they wouldn’t have already known, you will be gaining a larger presence online and therefore getting your brand out there in front of a larger target audience.

Reason #2. Boost Website Traffic

Most of the time, business owners will start a blog that’s separate from their main website or online store. Because of this, you have yet another platform which you can use to direct traffic to your website through links in your navigation system and blog content.

Additionally, sharing your business blog posts on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter can help to generate more traffic to your site from these platforms. If you’re hoping to create highly shareable content, hiring a professional blog writing service is a great idea.

Reason #3. Engage with Your Customers

Another great reason to start a business blog is that it provides another platform on which you can engage with your customers. When coupled with social media, a business blog can be a very effective tool for getting your customers talking and actively letting you know what you want.

For example, you could post a poll or link to a survey on your blog, or hold a contest that involves your readers sharing their favorite content on social media. This will encourage your audience to get involved while enabling you to meet their requirements.

Reason #4. Create a Reader Community

The community that businesses can create simply from blogging offers a great opportunity to learn more about your audience. One of the best parts of running a successful business blog is the discussion that goes on in the comments section of each blog post.

Use this to your advantage by taking notice of the opinions and views that your readers share and tailoring your content to suit them.

Reason #5. Establish Yourself as an Expert

A business blog is a valuable platform to show off your knowledge in your industry. No matter what you sell or who you sell to, customers are always looking for brands that show a high amount of expertise in their field.

So, use your blog to show your audience just that by filling it with informational, helpful content that teaches them something new.

Creating a business blog takes time and patience, but it’s an investment that can pay off massively.
