With work changing a lot over the last few years and even with how difficult it’s becoming to even find a job you need to make an effort to maintain a good work-life balance. So it’s important to make sure that you don’t slide into these bad habits and make time for other things before it becomes a much bigger issue. So once in a while just drop a little text or make a call to catch up and follow it up with a suggestion of a meet-up, go for a drink or a quick lunch.
Take Up a Hobby
Another great way of making some time away from work is to take up a hobby. Ideally, something structured, as if you commit to a class that’s on weekly you will feel obliged to take that specific time away from your schedule. If you have a family then it’s important to spend time with them. You hear people saying that kids grow up so quickly, and this is certainly truer when you spend any time away from them, you see them and then they seem to instantly grow up. So spend this time while you can, take them to the beach, go out for lunch or a walk, anything so long as you do it together. Even if you don’t have a family, if you want one you still need to get out there and find a partner, it’s really easy these days with dating sites and apps everywhere.
