Usually when a hot, new social network, app, software or even e-books turn up in town I’ll be one of those geeky guys who would immediately download it, try to get an invite or use them right away. However, when Twitter introduced Vine back in January what I did was download it, registered myself and simply sat back to see how others were using it. After awhile I stopped logging into it. Recently, I decided to log back in to see what changed. I even did my first uncreative Vine video after a little bit of a push from my friend Ahna Hendrix. Guess what? a couple of days later, Instagram decided to add their own version of Vine onto their already so popular app. … [Read more...] about Twitter screwed up with Vine
How to: Build a Twitter Following with Twitter Lists
Twitter can become a little overwhelming for those who have just got started. It is like having 100 radio stations switched on at the same time and catching bits of pieces of conversations here and there. One of the questions I get asked frequently is how do I manage or keep up with my Twitter stream? Some of these questions even come with questions such as if I am using a bot or have satffs managing my twitter account like Guy Kawasaki. All of them are false of course, and the answer really is much simpler than you thought. As you may already guess, it’s just by using Twitter lists. … [Read more...] about How to: Build a Twitter Following with Twitter Lists
8 ways to humanize your business on social media
I had a conversation with one of my friends on twitter. We were discussing about the importance of humanizing a brand on the social web, sadly not many businesses are taking the opportunity to do it. Some of them treats it as another advertising medium to promote and sell their bad product. Furthermore, questions might arise regarding how accurate your categorization of your followers is, because if your categorization is inaccurate, then your list might be even less efficient. From this point of view, I … [Read more...] about How to organize your twitter list with formulists

Snoop Dogg is the Doggfather of Social Media Experts
@SnoopDogg just got into my “celebrities that know the true value of Twitter” group. Not that I have a real group. I personally think not many people understand the true power of what social media can actually bring to them, unlike Alyssa Milano, Cory Booker, Aston Kutcher, etc. Charlie Sheen is not in the group at the moment. He’s too wild for me to handle. After watching the Twitter official birthday video, Snoop Dogg caught my attention when he talked about him following Martha Stewart and why he followed her. Recently, I read an article from the man himself, saying that Twitter has changed the relationship between artists and fans and why he encourages artists to be on it, as he believes that it is one of the biggest developments he has seen. … [Read more...] about Snoop Dogg is the Doggfather of Social Media Experts
