How Are People Making Money Online?

September 3, 2019 by Aaron

You’ve likely noticed the recent trend of people making money online, but how are they doing it? If you’re like most people, making money online probably feels like a “too good to be true” scenario. Luckily, this isn’t the case. There are actually hundreds of ways to make money online, some that involved very little effort. Here’s how people are making money online in 2019.

Online Surveys

Online surveys have become a popular option for folks looking to generate some extra income either to have extra spending money or to supplement their full-time gig. Whatever the case may be, if you take surveys for money, it can offer a simple and easy way to generate a few hundred extra dollars every month. Best of all, survey-taking doesn’t take much time at all!

With sites like Survey Junkie, you’ll have access to surveys each month that will pay in virtual points once you’re finished. These virtual points carry a cash value, which you can then exchange for cash payouts or even e-gift cards to your favorite retail stores.

Read this Survey Junkie review to see why the platform is one of the most trusted and visited survey sites on the web. Set up your account today and start earning extra cash from home!

Blogging/YouTube

Creating a personal blog or YouTube channel can have long-term benefits financially; with top YouTubers creating their own brands that are worth millions of dollars. In order to reach this type of notoriety, however, you’ll need a lot of work ethic, personal confidence, and marketing. Even a small YouTube channel or blog can still generate income though.

If you already run a blog or website, you can try affiliate marketing, which allows brands to advertise their products or services on your website. Each time a user or reader clicks on one of the ads, you get paid; generating completely passive income that can help boost your monthly cash flow and give your readers access to quality products.

Selling Textbooks

If you’ve still got old college textbooks sitting on your shelves or in the back of your car, selling them can give you a quick cash boost. With so many online buyback programs available, you’ll find no shortage of offers for books of all kinds.

You’ll start by entering your book’s ISBN number. From there, the site will give you an offer, and once you accept your offer, you can print off your shipping label and ship your books. Usually, within a week, you’ll receive your money (provided the books are in decent condition). The buyer will likely return to you any books that are too badly damaged to be resold. Think of it this way: you can make a profit and help a college student get an affordable used textbook. It’s a win-win!

Self-Published Books

Amazon has recently acquired the self-publishing company “Create Space”, making it easier than ever to publish your own Kindle e-book and start racking up sales. E-books are incredibly easy to publish (though writing one is a bit more intense) and require only minimal fees should you want printed copies of your books. You’ll get to keep a larger portion of your royalties with e-books and self-published books, making it the cheaper route in comparison to acquiring a traditional publishing contract.

Self-published books will require you to do some marketing, however, so you may have to re-invest some of the money you make from the venture into attracting new readers. However, if your e-book performs well, it could be picked up by a publisher and have the potential to make ten times as much money.

E-Commerce

Whether you start your own e-commerce store or sell your items on a platform like eBay or Amazon or Etsy, there’s always an online market for handmade items and new products that make people’s lives easier. Etsy is a popular option for those producers who hand-craft their items. You’ll be charged per listing, but you can charge your own prices for the items and offer to ship anywhere in the world.

Amazon is a little more difficult to get into, but once you’re in, you’ll have a store that can access billions of consumers all over the world. Amazon is one of the top retailers in the entire world, so running your own Amazon store has the potential to be very profitable.

Selling Photos

If you’re great at taking the right pictures, or are already a professional photographer, selling your photos to stock sites or other online outlets is an easy way to make some extra money. Websites, designers, and all manner of professionals and businesses need high-quality stock photos for websites and physical materials.

You can make quite a bit of money online selling photos if you find the right clients; and you may even find that you make repeated clients out of them. Having an extra source of income every month can help you expand your operation and upgrade your tools for even higher-quality photos and more money per shoot.

The Bottom Line

In 2019, it’s pretty easy to make money online. With endless freelance opportunities, online merchant stores, and social media sites available, you’ll find that generating money online simply requires a little bit of research and some determination. Once the money starts rolling in, you’ll see why so many people are ditching their 9-5 for a more flexible source of income.
