Finally I got hold of “The Zen Of Social Media Marketing“ by Shama Kabani. I found ONE copy which was sold in one of the top book stores in my state. The book attracted my attention. I look at the cover and it says “the last social media guide you’ll ever need.. with continuous online updates” i smiled and flip it over and read the summary of the book. After reading it, I bought it (I still have other books I’ve not read but I still bought this LoL)
My Review
One thing i love about this book is that it is straight to the point. @Shama goes right to the point and I actually felt she was in front of me talking to me. This is what I look for in a book. I actually finished the book in two sittings.
The thing I love about this book is that @shama teaches you the basics of everything, @shama teaches you the step by step on how to use the 3 top popular social networking sites twitter, facebook and linkedin. She also gave the Do’s and Don’ts on all the three networks.I didn’t know a lot about linkedin so I benefited the most from that section.
Although I’ve been using twitter for a while and tweeted a lot of contents on twitter, yet there were a tons of nuggets that I gotten off from the chapter on twitter.
I would say my favorite part of the book is the last chapter where @shama interviews 12 successful people who used social media. There you get to learn a lot about how other people are using social media in their niches. It was a great eye opener on how other are actually using it. From that chapter alone I learned a lot.
My advice on reading this is to have a writing pad beside you, because you will get a lot of information that is worth writing down. I will be going through the book again as soon I get the other books done.
Great book and recommended to people who are not sure where to start and what social networking sites to use in social media to get this book.
